Academic Staff Biography
Ratna Winandi is a senior Lecturer in Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University. She holds Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Agricultural Economics from IPB University and has spent her academic career teaching and researching agribusiness marketing, supply chains, and managerial economics. Her teaching includes marketing and agribusiness supply chain management, business feasibility studies, cooperatives, and agribusiness institutions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Her research focuses on market performance, price dynamics, and value chain efficiency in Indonesian agrifood systems. She has published extensively on beef price volatility, cocoa export performance, rice marketing systems, coffee marketing efficiency, nutmeg value addition, and import dependence in the dairy industry. Her work applies econometric and structure–conduct–performance approaches to understand how market structure and policies influence prices, margins, and competitiveness. Through her research, she aims to improve market transparency, farmer income, and competitiveness of Indonesian agribusiness in domestic and international markets.

Analysing price volatility, transmission, and marketing margins in commodities such as rice, beef, coffee, cocoa, and dairy.
Value chains and supply chain efficiency
Studying coordination, transaction costs, and value added along agribusiness supply chains to improve competitiveness.
Agribusiness institutions and business feasibility
Evaluating cooperatives, institutions, and business models to support sustainable and profitable agribusiness enterprises.
