Academic Staff Biography
Rachmat Pambudy is a Professor and senior Lecturer in Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University, with a multidisciplinary background in livestock production, development communication, and development counseling. He teaches a wide range of courses covering entrepreneurship, agribusiness systems, leadership, negotiation, business communication, and agricultural policy at undergraduate to doctoral levels. In addition to his academic role, he has been actively involved in national agribusiness and food policy, serving on advisory boards and expert teams related to coffee, seeds, organic farming, logistics, and livestock industries.
His research focuses on agribusiness entrepreneurship, market integration, and value chain development, particularly in livestock, horticulture, and plantation-based systems. He has led and participated in studies on poultry and maize market integration, traceability and digital systems for livestock, entrepreneurship of cattle farmers, agribusiness integration of laying-hen enterprises, and consumer behaviour for fair-trade coffee. Through his applied research, technology-based projects, and policy engagement, he aims to strengthen farmer entrepreneurship, improve market efficiency, and support the development of resilient and inclusive agrifood systems in Indonesia.
