Academic Staff Biography

Nia Rosiana is a Lecturer in Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University. She earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Agribusiness from Bogor Agricultural University and has also served as an Instructor and Facilitator at the Agricultural Extension and Human Resources Development Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture. Her teaching covers agribusiness marketing, planning and evaluation, global agribusiness, consumer behaviour, negotiation, feasibility studies, and entrepreneurial practice across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Her research integrates agribusiness marketing, value chain analysis, and techno-economic evaluation of agricultural innovation. She has led and participated in numerous Kedaireka and IPB projects on controlled atmosphere storage for shallots, organic fertilizer from sugar factory waste, shrimp feed additives, garlic self-sufficiency, and valuation of agricultural technologies. She is also an active technology valuator and co-inventor of the OneHomeFarm and Sipeter applications, supporting the commercialisation of IPB innovations. Through her research and innovation activities, she aims to strengthen farmer welfare, market efficiency, and sustainability of Indonesia’s agrifood systems.

Analysing marketing channels, price dynamics, and consumer behaviour to improve efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural commodities.

Techno-economic analysis and innovation valuation

Evaluating financial feasibility, business models, and commercial potential of agricultural technologies and agro-industrial innovations.

Digital and smart agribusiness systems

Developing and applying digital tools, storage systems, and information platforms to support farmer decision-making and market integration.
