Academic Staff Biography
Lukman Mohammad Baga is a Professor and senior Lecturer in Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness from IPB University, a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Massey University, and a PhD in Economics Sciences from Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany. He has held several leadership roles, including Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Head of the Center for Sharia Business and Economic Studies, and Chairman of the Cooperative and MSME Development Institute of Al Ittihadiyah. He teaches agribusiness strategy, cooperatives, entrepreneurship, innovation, and regional development at undergraduate to doctoral levels.
His research integrates agribusiness strategy, entrepreneurship, Islamic finance, and MSME development. He has published extensively on farmer entrepreneurial behaviour, business digitalisation, cooperative development, value-added agrifood products, and strategic management in both agribusiness and non-agribusiness sectors. His work supports the development of competitive, innovative, and inclusive agribusiness enterprises, particularly those linked to cooperatives, pesantren, and MSMEs.
