Academic Staff Biography

Burhanuddin is a lecturer of Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University, and currently serves as Head of the Department. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (Ir.), a Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management, and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Bogor Agricultural University. He has been a faculty member since 1999 and previously served as Assistant Director of Academic and Support Business Management at IPB University from 2018 to 2022. His teaching covers agribusiness entrepreneurship, leadership, information systems, innovation, and SME development at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.

His research focuses on agribusiness entrepreneurship, livestock systems, and digital and policy-driven innovation. He has been actively involved in national research and development programs funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Bank Indonesia, LPDP, and Kedaireka, addressing youth entrepreneurship, beef cattle agribusiness, cassava-based food systems, and rural enterprise development. He has published widely in international and national journals on supply chains, farm policy, and entrepreneurial behaviour, and has developed intellectual property in food processing, livestock feed, and agribusiness education. Through his academic leadership and applied research, he aims to strengthen Indonesia’s agribusiness competitiveness and rural livelihoods.

Agribusiness entrepreneurship and MSME development

Examining entrepreneurial behavior, business performance, and innovation pathways for farmers and agribusiness SMEs.

Livestock and agri-food supply chains

Studying cattle, dairy, and crop value chains, including logistics, stress management, and digital decision-support systems.

Digitalization and decision support in agribusiness

Developing data-driven tools, traceability, and decision-support systems to improve efficiency, transparency, and risk management.
