Academic Staff Biography
Rahmat Yanuar is a Lecturer in Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from IPB University. In addition to his teaching role, he serves as Secretary of the Center for Islamic Business and Economic Studies (CIBEST) at IPB University and has held leadership positions in student affairs and program management within the department. He teaches strategic management, cooperatives, entrepreneurship, agribusiness strategy and policy, agribusiness risk, research methodology, marketing, and farm management, reflecting a strong orientation toward enterprise and institutional development.
His research focuses on agribusiness value chains, farmer participation, and institutional and market-based development. He has led and participated in research on cocoa certification and farmer welfare, agroforestry value chains, smart fertigation in chili farming, farmer responses to economic shocks, and models for horticultural and plantation development. His publications examine vertical coordination in the dairy industry, cooperative performance, farmer marketing decisions, and closed-loop partnership models. Through research, policy-oriented projects, and community engagement, he aims to strengthen market integration, farmer resilience, and sustainable agribusiness development.

Agribusiness value chains and market coordination
Analysing how vertical and horizontal coordination, certification, and partnerships influence efficiency, quality, and farmer welfare.
Smallholder resilience and farm enterprise development
Studying how farmers respond to market and environmental shocks, adopt technology, and improve income through diversification and innovation.
Cooperatives, finance, and institutional systems
Examining the role of cooperatives, Islamic rural finance, and institutional arrangements in supporting inclusive agribusiness growth.
