Academic Staff Biography
Etriya is a Lecturer in Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness and her Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management from IPB University, and completed her PhD in Business Management with a specialization in Entrepreneurship at Wageningen University & Research. Since joining IPB University in 2005, she has taught undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses in entrepreneurship, business planning, innovation, and rural and agricultural entrepreneurship.
Her research focuses on agribusiness entrepreneurship, smallholder innovation, and the role of networks in shaping farm and enterprise performance. Her internationally published work examines entrepreneurial orientation, experience, and opportunity identification among smallholder farmers, as well as how social and business networks influence financial and innovative outcomes. She also studies women’s entrepreneurship, access to finance, and sustainable business models in agri-ecotourism. Through her research, she aims to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity, improve competitiveness, and promote inclusive and sustainable agribusiness development in rural Indonesia.
