Bayu Krisnamurthi, Dr. Ir. MS

Bayu Krisnamurthi is a Professor of Agribusiness at the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University, and currently serves as the Main Director of Perum BULOG, Indonesia’s national food logistics agency. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, and a Doctorate in Agricultural Economics from IPB University. In addition to his academic career, he has held numerous strategic leadership positions, including Chair of the Expert Team at the Ministry of Trade, President Commissioner of PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia, and Founder of the Indonesian Palm Oil Foundation.

His research and professional work focus on food security, agricultural price policy, and the competitiveness of Indonesian agribusiness in global markets. He has published extensively on rice price dynamics, palm oil sustainability, export diversification, and smallholder efficiency. Through his roles in government advisory bodies, international forums, and national agribusiness institutions, he actively links academic research with policy formulation and market governance. His work contributes to strengthening food system resilience, stabilizing commodity markets, and supporting inclusive and sustainable agribusiness development in Indonesia.

Analyzing export performance, international prices, and trade diversification of key commodities such as palm oil, coffee, rice, fisheries, and plantation crops.

Exploring certification, sustainability standards, and smallholder integration into modern value chains to enhance competitiveness and environmental performance.
